ipod touch

The new iPod Touch has been released. Apple hardly made any changes in the new model. I was disappointed that the FM Radio feature in the new iPod Nano was not included in the new iPod Touch.

The iPod Touch will be available in 8GB, 32GB and 64GB. Apple has dropped the 16GB model from it’s line up. However the good news is the 32GB model is now priced at RM1199 which is RM100 cheaper than 16GB model from the previous generation.

Apple never fails to amaze us – the new iMac is here but what’s more amazing is the mouse! I’m in love with it! It’s a touch pad on the surface of the mouse.

The new iMac features high definition display which Apple calls it “ultimate display”. What’s nice to see is Apple is now including the wireless mouse and keyboard as a standard package. See the video for more information on the new iMac and mouse.

ipod nano video

Apple has just launched the new iPod Nano which now features video recording, a larger screen (2.2 inches) and FM Radio! All these new features and more in a ultra portable compact size.

Video Recording
The new iPod Nano has a built in camera and mic to capture audio and video. The iPod also lets you choose special effects – like motion blur, sepia, thermal – and start recording. Once you are done, just sync the iPod Nano and you will be able to share the video by email, facebook or youtube. You can even playback the video and listen on the iPod Nano built-in speaker.

FM Radio
The FM radio is missing component from the iPod. Glad that Apple has finally included it. The FM tuner will display the name of the song and artist which is very handy plus a new feature – Live Pause.

Live Pause allows you to take a break from listening to the radio with just one click. With another click, you are listening to the radio again. You can even rewind up to 15 minutes back!

Other Features
The new iPod Nano also includes the Voice Over which tells you the artist and the title of the song that you are listening to. This feaute was first introduced in the iPod Shuffle.

Apple online store is now in Malaysia

// November 15th, 2008 // 2 Comments » // Technology

Apple has finally opened their online store for Malaysia. To celebrate, Apple is giving away a limited-edition Apple T-shirt for purchase of a new Mac or iPod by 24 November 2008. Honestly, the T-shirt looks just ordinary. A good discount would have been better.

The only item that not available in the store is the iPhone. The iPhone is already available in many Asian countries including Singapore, Philippines and soon in Thailand. There is still no news on it’s availability in Malaysia. Wonder how long more do we have to wait.

New iPods are out!

// September 11th, 2008 // 9 Comments » // Technology

Apple released the new iPods with a new makeover for the iPod Nano. For a start, the new iPod Nano comes in 9 colours. New features include Genuis and an Accelrometer. The new Genuis feature is like your personal DJ, it will create a playlist of songs that go great together. The accelerometer will detect the position and movement of the iPod Nano and rotates the screen between landscape and portrait and also acts as a control for games. If you like a little unpredictability, just give the iPod Nano a shake and it will shuffle your music (seems to me like a feature copied from Sony Ericsson Walkman phones).

Maxis bidding to bring the iPhone to Malaysia

// July 28th, 2008 // 9 Comments » // Technology

iPhone lovers keep your fingers crossed! Maxis is currently securing rights from Apple Inc to bring the iPhone to Malaysia. (Source: StarBiz) If Maxis successfully, they will definitely gain a bigger share in the telco industry and we will not need to buy from overseas or pay a premium price for parallel imports. But then again, will there be enough stock? And I’m sure the queues is going to be long!
