AirAsia X launches flights to Melbourne

AirAsia X will begin direct flights from Kuala Lumpur to Tullamarine Airport in Melbourne starting from 12 November 2008. The flights will be serviced by AirAsia X first brand new wide-bodied Airbus A330-300 plane, giving it’s customers an improved level of service including in-flight entertainment. The carrier plans to offer four weekly flights and plans to increase it’s frequency to daily during the peak season between December and mid-January.

Melbourne is the fourth international route for AirAsia X since it commence operations in November 2007. The airline currently flies to Australia’s Gold Coast and Perth as well as Hangzhou in China.

Promotional fares will be offered for bookings made between 21 and 24 August for travel between 12 November 2008 and 30 April 2009. One-way ticket to Melbourne will cost as low as RM99 and from Melbourne to Kuala Lumpur at AUD199.
