Malaysia Airlines Bans Luggage on Flights to Europe

Malaysia Airlines has imposed a ban on check-in luggage on flights to Europe due to unreasonably strong head winds over Egypt airspace which limits the airlines ability to carry baggage in the cargo.

From tonight, 05 January until further notice, Malaysia Airlines will only be able to accommodate cabin baggage of up to 7kg per Economy Class passenger and two pieces totalling 14kg for Business and First Class passengers.

Travellers who wish to check in their luggage will only receive them later.

For enquiries, please contact Malaysia Airlines at 1300-88-3000 or +603 7843 3000 for enquiries on the status of their checked in baggage.

Update at 1855 hours, 05 January 2016: Malaysia Airlines has imposed a temporary limitation on checked-in baggage on flights to Amsterdam and Paris. Normal baggage allowance has been restored on flights to London.
