Twitter seems to be getting more unstable these days. Many times when I try posting, the service is unable or overloaded. The worse I ever experience was yesterday, the service was unable from late morning until evening. In today’s news, Twitter warned to expect more outages. I am guessing due to the current World Cup, twits have been increasing, causing Twitter to reach it’s capacity and bringing the system down. CNN reported there were over 300,000 twits on the first World Cup game. I am sure it will continue to increase as we get closer to the finals.

Another popular social network system, Foursquare was also down yesterday.

Got myself the Mophie Juice Pack Air after long last. I really need an extra battery pack as my iPhone battery runs out fast (less than 24 hours sometimes) especially when I am on the road.

The Mophine Juice Pack Air may not be the best in the market as compared to the True Power iV which has enough power for up to 30 days standby but it’s comes with a very slim battery pack that fits on the iPhone like a cover. Many won’t notice the difference but on closer inspection, one will notice that the phone is slightly thicker.

The Juice Pack can be used in two modes – standby and charge. In standby mode, the iPhone will use the internal battery first and once it depleted, with a flick of a switch, the battery pack will start charging the iPhone. On the charge mode, the iPhone will constantly charge the iPhone battery and uses the Juice Pack battery until it’s empty before using the internal battery. Both modes have pros and cons, the standby mode provides longer battery life but needs to manually switch over while the charging mode is “switch and forget” but has a shorter battery life.

More importantly, I am now happy that I have a longer battery life (almost double) on my iPhone.

On the down side, this robot mop is not available and mostly likely will not be available in Malaysia. It’s available in the US for US$249.

Apple has just updated their Macbook Pro, 15-inch and 17-inch models with Intel Core i5 and i7 processors! They have also beef up the graphics card with NVIDIA GeForce GT330M -in 256MB and 512MB configurations. The 13-inch model did not get an upgrade in processor but on upgrade on the graphics card to NVIDIA GeForce 320M.

The price of the newly updated Apple MacBook Pro starts from RM 3899 for 13-inch, RM 5899 for 15-inch and RM 7,499 for 17-inch onwards. Orders can be made online at Apple Malaysia’s online store www.apple.com/my

Digi will be have iPhone soon as announced in a press release this morning. DiGi and Apple have reached an agreement to bring iPhone in the coming months. More details on the launch date and packages will be provided soon.

Looks like it’s time for Maxis to wake up as they will no longer be the iPhone monopoly. It’s also time for them to buck up on their services, expensive packages and constant 3G network issues.

Maybe it’s really time to change!
