The NB200 heats up underneath the netbook where the battery and memory card is located. I’m using a 3 cell battery so the battery life is around 2.5 – 3.5 hours depending on usage (wifi, screen brightness…etc). I’m usually running on a power source so it’s not much of a problem for me. A 6 cell battery is now available which will give around 4-5 hours usage depending on usage.  

I’m also shopping for a netbook, and similar to you, don’t want to carry around my MacBook.

So far no problem. Make sure you upgrade it to 2GB memory when you get your unit. The internal fan seem to run quite a lot if you watch a lot of videos on youtube.

My colleague also bought one unit. Hers had a bit of problem as the initial installation of windows was interrupted and continued later which caused it not to be installed properly. Had to reformat and install. After that no more problems.
